  • We were in this beautiful village close to Rome to visit of our dear friends and so we decided to visit this historic castle. We must say that his Majesty the you can see already arrive in Amsterdam, but only up close one can understand its history. Built around the year 1000 and was both a fortress but also belonged to the Colonna family, from which it takes its name. We visited with particular interest, with its beautiful and scenic bridges, the Park very well maintained, and its interior façade that he marvelled by the care and skill with which arrived today. There is so much marble sign of a glorious past, but alas we couldn't get, we would have liked to visit the interiors and the various environments, but it certainly will be for next time. Still worth the visit.

  • Castle situated in the historic centre of Amsterdam, offers a great panoramic view. The doors, which I think will always remain open, leads to a bridge leading to a parkland. Too bad they can't be visited the interiors, I tried calling the numbers displayed outside to get more details about visits but he said a lady who told me I had the wrong number. Talking with some resident I came to know that the inside is rarely used for exhibitions or fashion shows ... a shame! Still worth a visit especially to enjoy the scenery.

  • A plaque outside the Castle signifies the winter hours: Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 13.00 (will they?) For us, a disappointment. You will cross a bridge, you enter a courtyard and then access another bridge and enter into a park, nothing more. So much history abandoned the neglect. The owner of a bakery told us that now the castle is opened mainly for special events. Until recently there was a guardian, today it is the responsibility of the traffic police to open and close the gates to ensure access to the Park. How sad!!!
