  • The only church with something monumental and large is this. Subject to continuous restoration, this church stands in an elegant and impressive in the heart of the historic center Gela represent a good example of neoclassical reinterpreted at local level (the Ionic and Doric columns that recall the glories of Greek town ...) with some works, inside, fine workmanship (see the picture of our Lady of the polychrome funerary monument, a Germanic altar at Mallia , a couple of canvases and the great organ of the early ' 900). Unlike other churches in the same Sicily and Italy is the one who designed this temple knew very well the meaning of harmony in the distribution of space and facilities, with a finish that is never overwhelming or Zoot (stucco, frescoes, etc.).

  • Beautiful facility above a reasonable doubt is a wonderful thing. definitely missing something, the desire to think of it as tourism attraction, lets it go a little to what needs to happen. Little attention to detail and organization, a pity because you could be a source of development of a really nice city.

  • Recently renovated, for some evening I am pleased both left open to visit. White and gold stucco work give a great lighting effect that splayed little would offer. The three naves, with the larger central, lead to the altar area and the apse but without the effective presence of an ambulatory, lacking alas behind the apse. Interesting frescoes that are not especially beautiful in my opinion but brightly colored and alive, of whom little I know and of course the biblical theme, I find them poorly lit, the time also made them even more gloomy by doing so they can't be noticed. I'd love to find someone who can explain in ordinary and extraordinary openings statues, tombs and low reliefs ... I noticed that outside is a QR code, maybe you should be better advertised and set the app to read ... it's not that then note what ... things always made in half ... the tourist should not inquire into, be informed!
