  • Assuming that it is a lido, the level is very good. Try lunch and other miscellaneous services. Great coffee with ice and almond milk, good lunch dishes. If you wanted to find the NIT, I would send a message to the owner: you laugh a little more that your service is great! :-) Recommended.

  • Great establishment, impeccable cleanliness, furnishings and the beach. Umbrellas a bit too sleepy, arranged in four rows parallel to the shore. I don't recommend the row adjacent to the bar for the continuous passage of people and the inability to move a little bit backwards sunbeds looking for shade. Family run, very friendly and helpful owners Barbara and Luigi. Good kitchen with possibility to eat cold or hot dishes. Do not give up just because in 2 weeks with parasol, lunches and snacks there was never offered even a coffee ... and by the hospitality of Salento expect. (Last year in Otranto we were offered coffee everyday of our stay, say).

  • At about 4 km from Gallipoli, ascending towards Santa Maria al Bagno, località Rivabella there is this family run establishment. After crossing the small pine forest that leads to the beach from the car park you will notice the few umbrellas (about 60 or so, about 4 files) looking out at the beginning of a beautiful Cove (with the rocks on the left, but from there the white beach that reaches the Shore of the shells and then again over Santa Maria al Bagno). The owners and staff are very kind and extremely available: the cleanliness of the whole establishment is a manic levels (several times I saw the lifeguard Cosimo sweeping across the Boardwalk leading to the beach, the floor of the bar and bathrooms; they spend even a few times to ask if you have waste to be disposed of (there are buckets of sorting next to the bar) and empty the ashtrays of the umbrella); If, due to a stronger current were to get some seaweed or some floating refuse immediately are also activated to dredge the water's edge. Excellent organization of the beach and convenience store, where you can also eat the dishes can be booked during the morning (pucce leccesi, vegetable salads or sea, pasta dishes). For someone like me, coming from Rome prices absolutely ridiculous: a beach umbrella and two sunbeds (full day) cost a TOTAL of €7 (and in June there was a promotion that, with more €7 could be able to have lunch with two pucce leccesi or two salads or two sandwiches, two bottles of water and two cups of coffee). GO for IT (also because the sea there is scary!)

Where to stay in Gallipoli

To use Gallipoli as a base to see the rest of Puglia, consider staying in or near the city's old town, noted for its shops, restaurants, and museums. Most hotels in this area are quite large and modern, so if you want something a little more traditional and low-key, think about booking your room at a private villa or B&B near the seafront. They offer stylish rooms and sunny terraces, with access to private swimming pools and nearby beaches.
