  • The famous island of Gallipoli which houses the lighthouse. Completely uninhabited and nearly abandoned as building that stands out, it is still recommended to see feature and touring by boat

  • The island is very low (about one meter) and then the marino makes the island completely barren. At the center of the island there is a lighthouse. The island is not open to the public as it is marine reserve

  • Looking North, about a mile from Gallipoli, surmounted by a 45-metre high Lighthouse today working on automatic by solar panels that feed a large lamp that can light up to 20 nautical miles, it appears to the observer the island of Sant'Andrea. It is one of the few islands of Salento and is shallow and barren and the few bushes of Mediterranean constitute its vegetation. The island of Saint Andrew, also observed from afar, (unfortunately the roughest prevented us from making the journey) and from different viewpoints, both from the coastal road that winds to the North and South of Gallipoli old town waterfront, both from is still fascinating, especially when in the dark, the lighthouse seems to hug the coast.
