  • Absolutely do not miss a visit to the oil mill which was made open to visitors at the end of the Gallipoli Association Our 80 and covers over 200 square meters under the palaces of via Antonietta de Pace. Inside there are the environments in which they lived, workers, animals and where the oil was produced food is obvious, so production could go from October (food oil low acidity) to March (with olive oil lampante stay for a long time to mature into these places where not rotted). The splendid guide describes quite accurately the lives of workers who were staying for several months in these environments, the phases and the tools used some original yet other perfectly reconstructed the oil was the main source of wealth of the city as in the surrounding countryside there were large expanses of olive trees and Gallipoli with his port could send striking oil worldwide to illuminate each city coming as far as Northern Europe and Russia

  • Board of stop and go for a ride in this old oil mill of 1600, fully restored ... you just have to get off two narrow flights of stairs, pay the ticket (the price?? Only 1.50!) and let yourself be carried by the beauty of this place that tells of the immense work and heavy men who remained closed to work in the mill from October to March with the animals, without ever leaving except at work concluded. The oil was then exported throughout Europe! All documented and explained in an excellent manner by the staff, which is really nice and courteous. Really beautiful, you can't miss it.
