  • Arriving in Galatina by the side of the main square (near you) you notice the majestic Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, the mother church of Galatina, located within walking distance from the chapel of São Paulo. Built from scratch in 1633 on the site of an earlier Church, with its monumental Baroque façade, stands on the square, offering a show of incomparable scenography. Note the beautiful and numerous statues on the façade, and once inside, look at the top because of particular interest are the frescoes on the vault, the beautiful polychrome marble altars, the ancient chapel of the sacrament, the fabrics. In a side chapel there is a limestone Boulder where according to tradition Saint Peter sat to rest before reaching the city. Don't miss a visit to this church!
