Castello di Brolio, Gaiole in Chianti

Garden
Tour the vineyards, grounds, and castle at Castello di Brolio. The castle passed into the hands of the Ricasoli family in 1141, and still shows damage from bullets and cannonballs. Admire the surrounding rolling hills and 230 hectares (568 acres) of vineyards from the ramparts of the castle. Sample the family vineyard’s own Chianti wine--the formula for Chianti was invented here in 1872--over a three-course meal in the terrace restaurant. • While the site is beautiful, but walkable only in the gardens and Chapel. A bit short. Beautiful view from the terrace, but jaded not seen inside. GD parking upstairs not signposted, do not hesitate has exceed the parking lot of the restaurant! Otherwise 1 km walk. QD has the tasting...: a fool grabs! 1 drop of local wine to be decide between 12 kinds of wines... (so we take a classic without snack) Petso I like wine, but it's slaughter.

  • Beautiful castle and its gardens, charming Chapel and the family crypt. Indescribable is the view that can be admired from the terrace. The entrance to the gardens of the castle is € 5. Only flaw you can visit the Interior of the Castle as it is still inhabited.

  • to enjoy the landscapes of Tuscany, the best is from castellina in chianti, typical village of Tuscan, drive up to the castle of brolio and enjoy to take a tour. Beautiful day in chianti, you can even stop to make visits and tastings in the vineyards, knowing that in addition to the Castle you have this tasting. inside of it cannot be visited, owned by an Italian Minister, this castle can be visited from the outside, but it allows to conclude a day in this beautiful landscape.

  • Amazing history of Barone Ricasoli, the "Iron Barone". 2x Italian president and creator of the world famous "Chianti Classico" wine. Do the tour through the family museum, you will not be disappointed.
  • If you're making the way through the Chianti - make a stop here. Still owned and lived in by the Ricasoli Family, this is the birthplace of Chianti Classico. The grounds are outstanding and the view from the top of the walls is breathtaking. Admission also includes a complimentary wine-tasting, definitely a must see in the Chianti! One tip - there's a parking lot for a restaurant at the entrance. Pass that and keep driving up the one-way road path until you make it to the top and park by the ticket office. We saw a few people who parked at the bottom and walked up not knowing there was parking at the top.
  • The Castle itself is off limits as it's a private residence but the grounds are lovely and the property has a great story. That aside the views of Tuscany and down to Rome are worth the entry fee alone.
  • If you are in the area this castle is a must. While still a private residence you can visit certain areas and get amazing views of the surrounding vineyards and even try to make Roma out in the distance.
  • Best view in Gaiole Di Chianti. My fiance and I got the best photos of our month long trip here. Epic views.
