  • Beautiful view but zero services, should be "tapped" much more and better to allow all disabled too to be able to admire the scenery

  • Should be more controlled the descent into the rift, several times I found it fouled the usual uncivilized. The flying leads are very "natural" beauty of the place. I found in the chapel of the plaster. If falling rubble it would be better to close if not repaired. Always a very impressive place to visit.

  • The split mountain is definitely one of the most suggestive places in Gaeta, attended every year by tourists who are caught by the magic of three slits of the promontory. It is a place that embodies a real itinerary. The sanctuary of the Holy Trinity, built in the 11th century, is renowned in history because here I prayed several popes, including Pope Pius IX, Kings, bishops and saints, including Bernardine of Siena, Ignatius of Loyola, Leonard of port Maurice and St. Philip Neri. Legend has it that St. Philip Neri had lived inside of split mountain where there is a bed of stone known today as "the bed of Saint Philip Neri". Along the walls of rock, you can admire the majolica tiles of the cross stations, partly restored, dating back to 1849 and attributed to St. Bernardine of Siena, containing the verses of Metastasio. Of course the route includes the visit of the beautiful "Grotta del Turco", connected to an ancient religious tradition that came into existence at the time of the death of Christ when he gashed the veil of the Temple in Jerusalem, both faiths popular. Among these, we would have the imprint of the hand of a Turkish sailor on a rock. (G)

  • A natural wonder not to be missed. Shame you can't descend into the cave of Turkish (for security reasons). Beautiful view from the terrace of parking.

  • Gaeta is not only sea, but hides a very suggestive corners, like this one, that of split mountain. A place which can be reached easily by car and that requires a few hours of visit to get to know the story behind it. Absolutely recommended.
