  • The castle complex is extremely fascinating. Contains a bit of everything you would expect of a medieval fortress: history, legend, mystery, secret passages, instruments of torture, prisons, trenches, towers, breathtaking views and its state of preservation is excellent. Also notable is the skill of the lady who made from Malaspina family with tales fascinate Guide.

  • Living in the area, I have been many times to visit the Castle, bringing friends and relatives. No denying the charm of the Castle and the view from it you can see (from the Apuan Alps in the Val di Magra). Always been satisfied with the visit, which is a little race-but-always very exhaustive. The last visit was a mess: first, know that the visits ending at dusk because the areas visited the Castle does not have electric light. and the Guide doesn't even arms flashlight. Then taking the last visit you will see rooms in dim light and coming down from the tower to fly down the stairs (thanks to the guys that they light for smartphones). The visit should be made only for small groups, instead we were over 30. When they arrived the last in line (running), the guide had already finished the visit and was passed to the next room (or the tower was already in the yard). No time to linger a while outside. Beyond this, has been the presence of children but ... visit the castle of Malaspina and not to mention the family as they have dominated for centuries with terror in the Valley, and all the details concerning the family. It seems ridiculous. The Malaspina was bloodthirsty, not to mention anything to speak of ceramics of various amenities 700 or any need for a visit to the Castle. Hoping that radically changes the way to visit the Castle (the lady who looked after prior visits were nothing short of fantastic) I'll definitely return. Until then: like hell, are 6 euros down the drain. Highly recommend taking the first visits of the day (at least not you will end up in the dark) and temperate/warm days.

  • Unique and unforgettable Castle located at the top of a mountain! We also had dinner at the hotel as we had taken an all inclusive package! Highly recommended!

  • Not a castle expert but this place was beautiful, went there for a friend's wedding. the views were awesome, you can also spend the night there, but no A/C! breakfast in the morning overlooking the village fit for kings.
  • Amazingly beautiful place to stay near Cinque Terre. Fantastic hosts. It's magic!
  • In Fosdinovo small country of Ludigiana lies the Malaspina Castle. The construction built into the rock provides an imposing appearance is exactly the Castle fortress to make particular the hamlet of Fosdinovo.

  • We stayed here in may 2015 with friends insane for the issue of ghosts, the castle is really beautiful, the guided tour by night is impressive and the fact of being able to turn freely and to sleep is something unique. For guests there is a possibility to park inside. The view from the walkway is indescribable. Very impressive breakfast in niche overlooking the Valley.
