Chiesa del Soccorso, Forio
Categories: Churches, Tourist Spots
On a small peninsula beside the Tyrrhenian Sea, Chiesa del Soccorso was built around 1350. Its whitewashed exterior is a study in simplicity and reverence. Inside, view the small collection of artwork and various religious artifacts. Outside, explore the rocky outcrop and enjoy ocean views once admired by the fishermen to whom the chapel is dedicated. Keep an eye out for the island of Ventotene, visible from the small square in front of the church on clear days.
