  • Leaving the ancient Rome in the South, you can continue by bus at the stop of the Sebastian catacombs to the via Appia Antica. After the first 500 meters there is hardly building except the remains and still impressive ruins of Roman tombs. Are trees on both sides, and one gets the impression to be transported during this period as a result of the ancient paving. Also a few people who are relative despite the importance here what makes even more attractive to the target in contrast to Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. Be sure to look at and possibly associate with a visit to the catacombs.

  • Not too much left in this historic sites, the search functionality. Cloaca Maxima, several aqueducts-working until our days in full, as they say. And one of these objects is undoubtedly the ancient Appian way. As is well known, the Roman legionaries moving in different directions and extending the borders of the empire built by yourself and the entire infrastructure, including supply routes, which included road. One of the masterpieces of the ancient road construction and is the via Appia. Coming from Rome to then sea port of Ostia. In some places the road is covered with modern asphalt, but its old stones still gladly shed. Along the way many interesting ruins, including the construction of the ancient Etruscan. I recommend at least a small part of the journey carried out on foot.
