L'attesa è stata lunga, ma ne è valsa la pena! Siamo venuti a Pale alcuni mesi fa ma non siamo riusciti a fare la visita all' Eremo...Stavolta abbiamo prenotato la guida e ci si è aperto un mondo fant... read more »The wait was long, but it was worth it! We came to Pale several months ago but we could not make the visit to the Hermitage ... This time we booked a guide and we opened a fantasy world, a small church with its outbuildings carved into the rock, a source (unfortunately now dry) also worked in the rock and a history (very well illustrated by Jude super-helpful). A place where silence, peace and meditation are the masters! To get there you need to walk a path (dificilissimo) for about 30 minutes from the town of Pale. Highly recommended!!!show original

Leave the car in Pale climb for about twenty minutes on a fairly steep path and reach the Hermitage that is embedded in the rock. Usually is closed, if you go by yourself is recommended to arrange the visit after making sure one of the volunteers of the country are available to open. The Hermitage is small but rich in things, in addition to the chapel which has beautiful frescoes is that has been restored after the earthquake of 97, one part is dedicated to what used to be the home of the hermit, while another wing allowed the pilgrims ' exit after passing through the Church. Once you leave the Hermitage you can make a loop back to the country through a path in the Woods where the landscape changes completely and you can admire various waterfalls formed by the river Menotre.
