  • One of those places where you have made our Italy. Should be visited with the right spirit and desire, if nn you appreciate those who have sacrificed 100 years ago: avoid. I was with infants ... too picvoli to understand ... so I was able to concentrate just on history and to appreciate more the well kept green. If you take them remember anyway that is sacred Area and not a playground.

  • The Hill is a hill facing the Redipuglia which housed the cemetery of the third army, first monumental shrine Unvanquished world war. It housed the remains of 30 thousand fallen soldiers in the area that were later reburied in the military Memorial and cemetery was converted into a Memorial Park. Seven concentric areas, on the idea of Dante's Purgatory, follow each other to the top where he created a square, a votive chapel and an obelisk shaped like a lighthouse where ran out of avenues in the cemetery. The emotional impact was very high. the tombs were constructed with materials found on the battlefields and in place of the crosses were placed explosive remnants of war with epigraphs, sometimes, even poetic. The weather and climate damaged the graveyard and when it was built the Shrine the bodies were transferred and redefined the monumental profile turning it into remembrance Park. Today you see a big step Avenue displaying inscriptions and memorabilia, many are reproductions. On top of the Chapel and the Obelisk are gone, replaced by a Roman column, coming from Aquileia, in memory of the victims of all wars.

  • To complete the visit to the shrine, you don't want to miss this site on the slopes of which remain indelibly written on rock the memories of who was on those lands in wartime. On top there are guns, howitzers and other weapons well preserved.
