  • This is a tiny little chapel and we almost missed it, but so glad we didn't. Some beautiful frescoes adorn the walls - one of Florence's hidden treasures!
  • Is is of a small oratory dedicated to St. Martin, in the square of the same name. There are interesting frescoes that narrate the life of St. Martin, the life of that time. In addition there is a bust of San Antonio at the altar, attributed to Verrocchio. Curious and free visit.

  • Not far from the birthplace of Dante Alighieri visited this nice little oratory dating from the 10th century. This oratory is the home of the "Compagnia dei Buonomini" pursued still today to bring assistance to certain categories of the population of Florence, formerly brought aid and aid to members of noble families and well-heeled falls out of favor. Inside there is a bust of St. Antonino and the frescoes evoking all the works that they put in place San Martino benefactors to bring help to the Florentines in need. The works are attributed to Ghirlandaio's students, we read that the most respected names for these works are Francesco D'Antonio and Domenico di Giovanni, and are an interesting play on the life of the city in the 15th century. We were surprised to find these beautiful frescoes in a modest oratory but the visit was extremely interesting. Alessandro and Ramona.
