  • I visited the Botanical Gardens during the exhibition of orchids, in winter. Charming perfume of these little flowers in the greenhouse where they were collected. Equally special are: the yellow leaves of the Ginkgo and the grandeur of the Elm of Japan.

  • One of the oldest botanical gardens in the world would need more maintenance, especially with respect to greenhouses. A visit to a botanical garden is always interesting, but there are really, in Italy and in the rest of the world, surely higher level.

  • Been enough for Firenze and want a quieter place? Go to Orto! Near the Piazza and Chiesa of San Marco, belongs to the Università degli Studi of the city. Many species divided into specific areas, until the island is found there. The beds of medicinal plants and herbs are a show, and I can see (with a bit of attention) as the same plants that we know may have different aromas. Huge trees produce shadows. Just sit back, enjoy, let the time go and forget about the noise from outside.
