Where to stay in Florence

Variety is not a problem when deciding where to stay in Florence. The compact town center is packed with hotels, hostels, and small inns. The drawback of this upmarket central area is that even family-run B&Bs often cost as much as luxury hotels. For more affordable lodgings, explore the area outside the tourist-driven city center. Staying in one of the city's residential neighborhoods allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life of local Florentines. B&Bs and hotels outside the center offer private parking and spacious rooms, all within walking distance of the main tourist sites.

  • The beauty of the place is breathtaking, like Palazzo Pitti. Pity that many décors are located precisely at the Uffizi or Pitti Palace or elsewhere. Would be to re-evaluate the Museum and open to the public also the picture gallery, the room that is now the principal's Office, etc. I'm sure it would be much appreciated by Italian and foreign visitors and that it may become a good source of revenue for the State.

  • It was once the home of King when Florence was capital of Italy, today a prestigious school, the interiors are spectacular with fabulous furniture collection

  • A great experience and the guides were very prepared. Although fiorentina I had never been to Poggio Imperiale. To be repeated.

  • Many people concentrate in the center of Florence to do their sightseeing, which is fine of course. Villa Medicea del Poggio Imperiale is one of the attractions that unfortunately don't get the number of tourists that it deserves, but if you have time and access to a car/taxi it's one of the places that deserves a visit while in Florence.
  • A city that does not deserve visits are certainly worth seeing. Outside an ancient tree took his space so exuberant. Nice experience.

  • The summer residence of the King is one of the most beautiful villas that populate the hills! Shame about not being able to go inside, as it houses a high school and a high school.

  • The villa is a school but also a veritable Museum, Unesco, where kids can grow up breathing the art, the beauty, the history of civilization from which they come
