  • My experience with this shoe store has been nothing but positive. Whilst visiting Florence, in September, my friend and I opted to purchase shoes here. Shqe received a lovely pair of ankle boots and I, a pair of ankle heels and riding boots. After my European travels ended and I returned home, I noted the slouchy in the ankle look was not for me. I emailed and Leonardo was all too happy to exchange them. At my expense, I sent the riding boots back. I picked two pair of shoes (both ankle boots) from their site and it was expedited to me. The boots are beautiful leather, with thick soles (not rubber at all). They are super comfortable and a delight. I purchased a few other leather shoes whilst in Europe and I must say, I find myself leaning more towards the shoes from Leonardo's.
  • IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ!!! VERY RUDE AND “INSULTING” STAFF (ALEX AND OTHER) Hi Leonardo and other potential shoppers, The below was my girlfriend and I`s horrible and unprofessional experience with Leonardo Shoes salesmen. This happened on April 15th, 2017 around 4:00pm. I came by on April 15th, 2017 and was looking to buy two pairs of dress shoes for $250 Euros each. I went by two times in 2 days because I wanted to shop around and compare like anyone looking to spend $500 Euros should. The first time, I came by was on April 14th, I was helped by a young employee named Alex. He was helpful that day and thereafter, I also met Leonardo himself but only for 15 seconds or so to introduce myself as I knew I may very well spend on his store. I left with the knowledge I needed to know about Leonardo`s shoes. After searching around Florence for comparable shoes, I came in the next day ready to spend on the dress shoes at Leonardos. I went in with my girlfriend as well as she wanted to buy a wallet. Here is where the rude service began. My girlfriend wanted to buy a wallet but the one on display was scratched so she asked for another one. Alex went to look for one but gave some attitude. Another rude salesmen said to my girlfriend - ``This is what happens with real leather, it`s authentic so it may be scratched and you should tell the person you`re buying that for``. He said this to my girlfriend in a rude manner. As for me, I went to their basement to look at shoes and Alex to me – “What we have below is the same as what we have above”. But I wanted to look downstairs as there would be no salesmen pressure and I could think and look at the shoes in peace before spending $500 Euro. Alex, a minute later was eyeing me from the middle of the staircase and yet again said, ``Everything downstairs is the same as upstairs`` so I said ``Ok sorry, I understand, no problem, I will come up.`` I followed him up seconds later. Less than a minute prior to that, my girlfriend had had enough of both Alex and the other salemens rude attitude and as she was leaving to wait outside she overheard Alex say to the other rude staffmen, ``STUPIDO`` in a sentence right after Alex came upstairs from talking to me. Obviously, referring to me. Leonardo – I am not sure if that is how you teach your salesmen to react to customers but two employees of yours were rude and unprofessional and I just wanted to let you and the readers know. You can be rude and give attitude but your staff should NEVER INSULT your customers!
  • Highest quality of leather. Last fashion desing. Very different models full of colours and wawww wonderful style. Very soft lether and comfort. Heand made. Warm environment with a excellent staff. I'm really very happy with my LEONARDOSHOES. Thanks a lot Leonardo shoes!
  • Fantastic selection of whatever leather products you're looking for! Alls I wanted in Florence was a pair of boots and the people working their were very attentive and let me try on all different types until I found the one I loved. The man did seem a bit rude but such is Italy. When I walked in he guessed my shoe size is 9-I said no it's a 10. I then tried on a 10 and it was too big.
  • Very knowledgeable with a wide selection of beautiful shoes! The staff was very attentive and helpful. They were not pushy nor tried to "sell you." It was a very comfortable place to shop. We left with four pair of unique, beautiful, hand crafted Italian shoes. Definitely worth a visit and look!

Where to stay in Florence

Variety is not a problem when deciding where to stay in Florence. The compact town center is packed with hotels, hostels, and small inns. The drawback of this upmarket central area is that even family-run B&Bs often cost as much as luxury hotels. For more affordable lodgings, explore the area outside the tourist-driven city center. Staying in one of the city's residential neighborhoods allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life of local Florentines. B&Bs and hotels outside the center offer private parking and spacious rooms, all within walking distance of the main tourist sites.
