Where to stay in Florence

Variety is not a problem when deciding where to stay in Florence. The compact town center is packed with hotels, hostels, and small inns. The drawback of this upmarket central area is that even family-run B&Bs often cost as much as luxury hotels. For more affordable lodgings, explore the area outside the tourist-driven city center. Staying in one of the city's residential neighborhoods allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life of local Florentines. B&Bs and hotels outside the center offer private parking and spacious rooms, all within walking distance of the main tourist sites.

  • My ultimate goal was to buy an Italian leather bag during my vacation. At this store, I got two AND my mom bought all her gifts here! Not only can you buy their handmade leather creations, you can catch a glimpse of the workshop as they are creating their designs from scratch. This store is the true resemblance of handmade Italian leather!! Don't miss out on this gem!!!
  • An absolutely BEAUTIFUL bag in the window caught my eye. It was one of a kind, in part because the leather goods here are handmade, and so there was no option to wait. The quality is fantastic and this family owned business was a pleasure to work with.
  • True artisans! This family owned business makes everything on site and the designs are original and beautiful.
  • Good prices for real leather made on site by a family business, spend the extra money and buy here over the markets.
  • Authentic hand crafted Italian made
