  • When we end of June there were the roses were unfortunately already withered. On the way back to the city from Piazzale Michelangelo but a worthwhile stop. Some sculptures in the garden offer interesting photo opportunities.

  • To visit in may, when the roses are in peak, after a day of light rain, with the setting sun: an enchanted place

  • From this garden right under piazzale Michelangelo affords a magnificent view. The artist Folon has left to the city of Florence these sculptures placed beautifully in this beautiful garden. Don't miss the small Japanese garden.

  • Those who love flowers and mainly roses (all colors) do not miss this garden. It is beautiful. It is located on your way to piazzale Michelangelo so surely do not miss it!
  • In my opinion, the most beautiful garden in Florence and it is not crowded by tourists yet. It is perfect to have a romantic evening
  • Second best view of the city. This is a nice calm place to stop on your way up to the Piazza de Michelangelo. It is very peaceful here and of course if it's the right season very beautiful as well. Also you can't beat the view. In my opinion it's a hidden gem of Florence. Most places like this aren't free to go into however this place is and we loved it!
  • Over 200 varieties of rose with home fascinating sculptures. Worth a visit. Access is up a steep hill so could be difficult for people with walking or breathing difficulties.
  • Wonderful views and some welcome peace and quiet in Florence. Definitely worth the hike up the hill - note it's not ideal for strollers!

Where to stay in Florence

Variety is not a problem when deciding where to stay in Florence. The compact town center is packed with hotels, hostels, and small inns. The drawback of this upmarket central area is that even family-run B&Bs often cost as much as luxury hotels. For more affordable lodgings, explore the area outside the tourist-driven city center. Staying in one of the city's residential neighborhoods allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life of local Florentines. B&Bs and hotels outside the center offer private parking and spacious rooms, all within walking distance of the main tourist sites.
