  • This Chapel is free of charge, there are limited hours of operation. (on the door) The history and stories (Inferno, Dan Brown) make it fun to the chapel can be visited.

  • This small church is worth a visit. I happened not in a long time in the area and I forgot how pretty it was. It seems to be the place where Dante first met Beatrice, a gem in the heart of the city just steps from Signoria but well hidden from view. Will then be found with the look and visited with the heart ...

  • Went to the House of Dante, and some metres before, in a street very narrow, is Santa Margherita-according to the poster, "detta di Dante"-. Small and modest, has the history that here was Dante to contemplate to Beatrice, of more high condition social that he and by ende, impossible. Both were both married with another / as. They are the tombs of the Portinari family, and there is a basket in which the / sisters in love leave letters for his impossible love, invoking Beatrice. Built in 1032 and several times restored, it seems stopped in time. One of the few ornaments of your inside is a painting that shows to Dante in the entry, as can verse today. We loved it for its history and its modesty, in a city teeming with spectacular churches.

  • Historical Landmark old church Place in Florence.
  • Why is the image of Santa Croce???
  • The Church of Santa Margherita dei Cerchi, known as the Church of Dante and Biatriche. According to the legend, here Dante and Biatriche met when they were children. Later they met in the Church in adulthood and fell in love, but Biatriche was already married, Dante went mad with love for Biatriche, and after her death wrote his best works. We were happy, so music not heard, but say it is excellent. There is a large basket with notes asking to give them the love, which loved his Dante Biatriche. Learned about this place from our guide, and next time will go back for sure, this church attracts its not tainted by tourists atmosphere.

  • Known as the Church of Dante, is the place where they met Dante and Beatrice. A small church with a discreet charm for couples in love! Within a framework that represents the meeting between Dante and Beatrice.
