  • Florence is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited in Italy. Old town quaint and very nice

  • Florence was the visit of our trip to Tuscany star and I can swear that we will not ever return despite its magnificent historic centre. It was a horrible day in general, the worse the bad treatment suffered by the personnel of the different monuments (lockers, drivers,...) rude, authoritarian, without any interest for helping you. Lack of widespread, uncontrolled, attractions closed without prior notice that they have to pay the entry to be included in a joint ticket with other attractions... A disaster, they have the goose that lays the golden eggs, and for the time being will continue because it is a tourist focal point around the world and tourists willing to endure almost anything when he has traveled thousands of miles to visit this city, but everything has a limit. On the other hand the prices of everything are abusive (except a few pleasant exceptions). To top it off after a disappointing day, we stole on the bus when we left. WILL NOT RETURN EVER.

Where to stay in Florence

Variety is not a problem when deciding where to stay in Florence. The compact town center is packed with hotels, hostels, and small inns. The drawback of this upmarket central area is that even family-run B&Bs often cost as much as luxury hotels. For more affordable lodgings, explore the area outside the tourist-driven city center. Staying in one of the city's residential neighborhoods allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life of local Florentines. B&Bs and hotels outside the center offer private parking and spacious rooms, all within walking distance of the main tourist sites.
