  • I went to 8/2017. Was the front of the hotel where we stayed is a trigger of the visit. Here is the Foligno last supper. Free of charge opening hours are limited. Florence train station is located in a 5-minute walk away from so little-karizu et al may not be.

  • A stone's throw from the train station Santa Naria Novella one of many hidden treasures, it must be said, the Cenacolo di Fuligno which is part of the former convent of the Franciscan Tertiaries particularly attentive to art, the complex, which includes the upper room in Fuligno, was founded at the beginning of the 14th century but was rebuilt around the mid 15th century. The walls look delicate and powerful, the sinopie of the frescoes that adorn the building, miraculously survived. The history of the monastery is not easy to read, even in fact you arrived to lose traces. Was rediscovered in 1833 when, which has become a workshop for silk, thanks to restoration and the subsequent fall of a piece of plaster, came into existence such beauty. Here you altered artists like Perugino, by Anton Giulio Majano, Bicci di Lorenzo. There is also a section devoted to archaeological finds in menento of its registered cone Egyptian Museum. Recently it was shelter for the works damaged by the terrifying allunvione of ' 66. There is a schedule in order to visit because the resources available do not allow a daily opening. The information you can get at Mibact Tuscany and ASP Montedomini which is next door.

  • Passing by chance in Via Faenza, I had the good surprise to find the Cenacle of Fuligno open: I have specified that the new timetable envisages the opening only Wednesday morning from 9:30 at 13:50. On the history of Fuligno, a small chest in a city filled with artworks, I already wrote: it is important to know which is again available!

  • We were not actually in the cenacolo, a dining room for monks/nuns with a Last Supper painting, but attended a play in the building. We will have to see the art the next trip!
  • Remarkable Last Supper - one of many to be seen and appreciated in Florence.
  • One of the most fascinating and least known of Florence is the Cenacolo di Fuligno, founded at the beginning of the 14th century and later renovated circa 1430 was the refectory of the convent of the Franciscan Sisters of blessed Angelina monumental from Foligno. With the abolition of the religious order, he was assigned to the Museum since the 19th century. In 1855 there was opened the Egyptian Museum, the 12 March 1871 the Etruscan Museum, in 1894 the collection Feroni. After the flood of 1966 was a repository of artworks damaged and then reopened in 1990, bringing together in the main room also frescoes by Bicci di Lorenzo (1430 approx) from different locations in the old convent of Fuligno and a wooden crucifix by Benedetto da Maiano, now relocated in the adjacent former convent. Now, in addition to the assumption of the Virgin by Valerio Marucelli, once on the high altar of the Church of Sant'Onofrio, Crucifixion and 16th century paintings, testimony to the diffusion of the four peruginismo in Tuscany and Italy. But the highlight of the sale is the fresco of the last supper. Frescoed by Perugino in the late 15th century, the opera has long been attributed to Raphael, also because of the beauty and elegance of some figures. But already in the nineteenth century German historian August Schmarsow assumed that it was a Perugino, thesis then reconfirmed in 2005 by the historian P. In the fresco, Perugino is a synthesis of traditional iconography, with some innovations coming from the Umbrian landscape and figurative culture, openness, the decoration based on grotesque. During the visit, I found a contemporary art exhibition, in which works by the artist Ignazio Fresu communicated with great intensity and poetry with the paintings of the fifteenth century

  • Charming and full of interest. The sala del cenacolo spectacular. Congress Organization average.

  • Interesting place to visit but as a Convention Center a dud. Awkward to reach by car, a maze of halls nonsensical, safety of zero. Incomprehensible management ... is a museum or a Conference Center?
