  • "You can't think about visiting Florence without having to Dante's House" but this visit left me high and dry. I was not at all excited. The price is not high, but rather would stand to make the visit more engaging, thorough.

  • This small museum relates the work and life of Dante Alighieri, XIII poet. It also gives you an understanding of life in Florence during that era. Why did the Tuscans build towers, what did their home...  more »
  • Nothing really interesting to watch, if not news already studied in the history books and literature: 2 floors you reread the stories of the Guelphs, Ghibellines, the relationship with Beatrice, corporations etc. Not being free, you can avoid it.

  • You can the original house outside. After pour some water on the stone, you can see the head shape of Dante. It's very funny.
  • Clean, wonderful Place in the middle of Florence
  • Is not the real Dante's House but a construction made in nineteenth-century period to pay homage to him. Symbol for Florence

  • The Casa di Dante is a historic and Museum divided into three floors through documents and artifacts that tell the life and work of the great poet. It is in the heart of medieval Florence, just where, on the basis of a documentary record, were the houses of the Alighieri. To be in front of Dante's House there is a part on the ground that if it throws water you can see a face that say the locals is Dante.

  • Dante's house actually running out, but it's still an interesting place to see if you have the time.

Where to stay in Florence

Variety is not a problem when deciding where to stay in Florence. The compact town center is packed with hotels, hostels, and small inns. The drawback of this upmarket central area is that even family-run B&Bs often cost as much as luxury hotels. For more affordable lodgings, explore the area outside the tourist-driven city center. Staying in one of the city's residential neighborhoods allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life of local Florentines. B&Bs and hotels outside the center offer private parking and spacious rooms, all within walking distance of the main tourist sites.
