Santa Trinita is a Roman Catholic church located in front of the Piazza of the same name, traversed by Via de' Tornabuoni, in central Florence, region of Tuscany, Italy. It is the mother church of the Vallumbrosan Order of monks, founded in 1092 by a Florentine nobleman. South on Via de' Tornabuoni is the Ponte Santa Trinita over the river Arno; across the street is the Palazzo Spini Feroni.

  • Not always indicated on the tourist maps, yet one of the most beautiful churches in the city to visit for free

  • Another street, another church. So many fantastic churches in Florence - try and see at least a couple before you leave. This one has quite a plain facade, but its well worth a look. 
  • Mandatory stop after crossing the bridge. Majestic basilica that sprouts in the midst of luxury stores. A real contrast between modernity and antiquity.
