  • Trek red blades from Fiastra dam where we left the car. Crossing the dam and putting in a tunnel took the trail that parallels the Lakeshore (beautiful view) then taking the path 335 we began to climb, but softly for about 45 minutes. You will come to a point where the soil will be gravel where you affronderà with shoes and begin to climb on slope the path. Here you are almost there and the show will be unusual and wonderful. The elements have created a particular rock Amphitheater, striking phenomenon that has left exposed iron rock substrate that makes them red colouring. Thanks to this long slow erosion over millions of years the mountain has lost part of limestone that is grinding and deposited on the ground forming the gravel on the ground. It is also known as Italian Cappadocia because it reminds the pinnacles and the fairy chimneys of that region. You can do a lot of photos because the show is really out of breath, here nature has operated in an astonishing way

  • They call it "the little Cappadocia". .. a real corner distinctive and rare ... Snow blades create a magic atmosphere.

  • We recently did the 8km (round-trip) hike from Lake Fiastra to the Lame Rosse rock formations. They are really beautiful and look like something you would see in southern UT. The trail leading up to t...  more »

  • A beautiful and particular place!
  • Beautiful!
  • Must seen if pass nearby
  • Stroll the charming and attractive rooms. The trail begins on the dam of Lake Fiastra discovering immediately breath taking views. The trail is easy though is always recommended a minimum of equipment: hiking boots and nordic walking sticks. I also recommend to take enough water saw that along the way there are sources. Passed the initial section found, continue in the shade of the woods for the rest of the trail. The most difficult is the final one at the foot of the Red Blades: the erosion in addition to creating these wonderful formations, fed the scree at the base. Faced with nordic walking sticks with basics to not sink, it's not that challenging. The place is very beautiful but also very fragile and must be preserved: do not stand behind the Lame because it's dangerous, and when you get to the way back don't run on the scree so as not to feed the erosion. If you are looking for tranquility, avoid the weekend. I have Saturday's route and met even numerous mountain bike cyclists coming down the trail at full speed as if it were a track downhill!

  • Nice trail suitable for everyone: from children to elderly people. Trail with long flat stretches, short climbs. Only uncomfortable la pietraia at the end of the path. Most of the trail is shaded with many spots where you can stop to rest. The initial section with crossing the Dam Lake plate. Recommended.
