Palazzo dei Diamanti, Ferrara

4.3
#1 of 12 in Museums in Ferrara
Admire medieval wood-panel paintings, classical words by Garofalo, enormous frescos, and more at Palazzo dei Diamanti, which houses the National Art Gallery of Ferrara. One of the world's most noteworthy Renaissance-era palaces, thousands of pink-veined marble diamonds adorn its reflective facade. Look for paintings from the medieval period through the 18th century, as well as rotating contemporary art exhibits. Don't miss the building's ornate candelabras and the Renaissance courtyard with its cloister and Ferraran marble well. Palace built by the Estensi in the new town. The Dukes of Ferrara have expanded the old town (medieval) with the help of the architect b. Rossetti. The expanded part of the city is called "addizione erculea". Art exhibits are held in this Palace.
