  • By scholar and expert on history and meta-history, I would like to recall the most famous ghosts of Ferrara. It is the specter of Marfisa d'Este. Legend has it that appears at night walking in the rooms of the House and looking out the Windows. It is recognizable as it has the appearance of a woman dressed in time with a phosphorescent glow greenish. La Marfisa enjoyed in surround himself with young sturdy lovers who then was cast by his minions into wells to razors. Ferrara is a city magika!

  • I had forgotten the elegance of this building, one of the jewels in my town. I was lucky enough to find a good guide and I really enjoyed the atmosphere in which Mack, very elegant and very educated woman-like all the ladies of the Este Court, wanted to live even after the transfer of the House of Este to Modena, last one. Grotesques are refined and elegant but very warm environments; You clearly feel the great love of Francis for daughters Marfisa and Bradamante, later legitimized. I found fantastic and fascinating business of Francis, the father, which we find in the decorations of frescoed ceilings, a perennial teaching. Businesses are not physical but philosophical: YOU DON'T LOVE FIDES (if not love, loyalty); YOU DON'T VIRES ANIMUS (unless the forces, can the will); YOU DON'T SORS TOLERANTIA (if not the fate, can the tolerance-or more modernly, resilience); FONS MANDURIAE (whose waters were always at the same level then the balance) are representative of how we deal with your own path, with equal mind (two temples one devoted to virtue-what makes us noble-and the other to honor what we are and that we must not forget). With so much teaching you include better the feats of Marfisa: among the most famous-and most important-the defence of t. Rate at a time of disgrace in the Court and the choice to remain-sola-Ferrara city to the papacy despite devolution while the House withdrew to Modena. I hope you like it too as it appealed to me!

  • Despite horrible lighting, a beautiful small gem with some marvelous works of art.
  • The building is lovely, well taken care of. The presence of furniture makes it clearer role, without which seems, as so often, a visit to empty spaces and no indication. Missing captions and signs that would make it more usable, but overall it is really enjoyable.
