  • In the impressive Palazzo Massari, damaged by the earthquake of 2012 the Museum together with the 800 and the Museum collection Boldini De Pisis, was much loved by me, also for the location: seemed to go find an old noble aunt, in one of those old houses of the Centre, with high ceilings and marble floors shiny. It's true, most of the works are now in the Castello Estense, enlightened and valued more worthily, but to be honest I preferred the old setting, that despite the obvious limitations, was perfect. Vivid portraits of the upper-class world so dear to Boldini, among those old walls not clashed so much, and his characters seemed to come alive, by the paintings and living out those rooms. In November I happened to pass in front of and hope for a reopening. Then in January I visited the works to the Castle.

  • A beautiful building which is within walking distance of the most famous Palazzo dei diamanti. Absolutely worth a visit to admire the works of Boldini, one of the masters of portraiture during the "belle epoque".
