  • In Piazza XXIV maggio, along with other works such as the post office building in Viale Cavour aqueduct designed by engineer Charles Savonuzzi in 1930 is part of the so-called 20th century Addition as opposed to most famous and high quality Addizione Erculea ' 500 by Biagio Rossetti. At the time the aqueduct and its monumental appearance were part of a "purpose" which was intended to give Ferrara, in fascist splendor of the period key. 30 metres tall has a dodecahedron and seems a monument more than an aqueduct, particularly since it is adorned with a fountain representing the Po and its tributaries with references to classical myths. Today it no longer plays the primordial function is a meeting point that topical administration is trying to wrest the degradation of the surrounding area. In and around, the European Market is held once a year, interesting meeting of material cultures of different countries.

  • When the fountain is running, breathless. At Christmas time was surrounded by a cheerful ski slope, a skating rink and a cheerful bar where it was possible to enjoy the hot chocolate. In late summer the stalls from all over the world have made it more beautiful and attractive.

  • As per title, in front of this structure I can every time to surprise me. A long time I didn't understand what it was exactly (until I was informed about it) but certainly I had the impression that it was a valuable site in the urban context of the center of Ferrara. The fountain on one of two sides (which incidentally was largely iced some days ago). I note, however, that there are no on-site educational panels that illustrate the history and characteristics of the structure (or at least I haven't seen them); I think it would be very useful to the visitor, even given the strong vocation "cultural tourism" of the city. The interiors are occupied by what appears to be an association active in social work (or so I thought). I recommend having a nice walk along the city walls as the aqueduct is located along the way (as in a "stopped" in the same defensive wall). Certainly RECOMMENDED.
