  • My husband and I walked here from the city of Ferentillo, which was a beautiful walk. It's a beautiful abby, and the hotel attached was also very nice to wander through as well.
  • Final two nights of our walking holiday in Umbria. Beautiful former Abbey with rich history, now a family run hotel of great charm. Remote but perfect setting, so peaceful. We received a very gracious...  more »

  • unbelievable 8th century nunnery in the mountains.
  • Near Ferentillo, the Abbey of San Pietro in Valle is reached through a long row of trees that already portends to a calm and beautiful; you enter this place from huge park and beautiful and already a foretaste of a very relaxing weekend in the midst of all medieval walls; the structure, in fact, winds through the rooms, all comfortable and very nice and the breakfast room reminiscent of the medieval banquet halls, with particular elegance and a large fireplace where over a candlestick and in an amphora; the light is everywhere and silence; in the same entry that leads to perceive a Church under renovation that I be beautiful; There is also an efficient salus per acquam where, on request, it is possible to make various treatments and a Jacuzzi. All that remains is to patrol around, full of charm, in the huge park, well-kept grass, a nice pit still working and looking after mass, in every corner of this beautiful location; not very far from the Marmore waterfalls, offering various levels of walk (the hardest is the most beautiful because you see a lot of things and you get to the top, contemplating the beauty and power of nature). In the evenings, the restaurant adjacent to the Abbey, the Canticle, offers creative and tasty cuisine, in a very special place and relaxing, with a chef. Negative downside, as far as I'm concerned, is that-with my boyfriend-I had already done a transfer for a weekend where I couldn't go to issues that I informed the management told me that there were problems and that we were "guests", however not later than two weeks following ... in fact we were guests, but paying the same amount already paid at check-out; for this and for letting back pay, without specific clarifications, I will go, for the rest (which isn't much), exemplary and highly recommended. The low rating I give to is not the same, which is beautiful but, in my opinion, for the correct behaviour of staff. Deborah
