  • Is a wonderful place, bucolic setting a few kilometers from Rome along the via Bendecti. You will often discover historical sights within walking distance from home like this. There is not only the Abbey but is a village where a few dozen people still live free from traffic and chaos, immersed in a medieval realities. The monastery is very impressive considering it was built in the 6th century and was for a long time under the auspices of Charlemagne. The complete tour is subject to charges and costs 4.5 € and can be done only with the guidance (times 10-12-15.30-17.30). In the first and second Sunday of the month there are antiques market: the first one the second local products. There is also a souvenir shop, a florist, a bar, an oven (with wonderful products) and the ability to buy dairy products. Last but not least, even a canteen/bar where you can eat (I would avoid the word date tasting portions!) products from the land of Sabina. Around a beautifully landscaped park and a convenient parking right across the street. It was a great trip that I highly recommend

  • Nestled among the hills and olive groves of the Sabina, this place full of history strikes the visitor for its beauty, tranquillity and grandeur. The Benedictine complex together with the small village represents an impressive masterpiece worthy of note. Just reread a bit of the history of the place, to understand the importance it had in past centuries, enjoying privileges and riches, and such importance accorded by Popes and emperors. In the maximum period of splendor, controlled a substantial territory with churches, fortifications and dozens of villages, and had become a place of visit by politicians, of all Charlemagne before heading to Rome for his coronation. All you have to do is visit the whole complex, the village, perhaps with a guided tour. Convenient parking lot a few meters from the village. Unmissable

  • beautiful church, along with the village form a pleasant stroll to relax, in the village there are restaurants and small workshops, not exactly of excellent historical artistic significance but then again to spend a nice afternoon Yes.
