  • My husband and I were in Erice early and so had to wait for the shop to open (9am). I think it's an Italian thing, but we felt as though they were annoyed that we were there early. Luckily I have a th...  more »
  • Well, nothing more to add to all the other reviews. That was some pastries galore. We sampled 6 different pastries and ate them in the back garden "al fresco". Wow!  more »
  • I had read about this town and this bakery and decided to hire a driver and drive from Palermo just to seek out this bakery. Erice is a charming Medieval town. You can cover it all by foot in a less t...  more »

  • Nice stop on your walk up he heels of Erice. They have a cute garden courtyard. The history of the place is interesting. Maria lived and worked in a covenant for 15 years and after she left she opened up this place with no money and 3lbs of almonds. The story on their site is more detailed but cool to be a part of it. The only down side is that they ship all over the world now so it's not like the food is so unique you can't have it again, but I guess that's good if you want to keep eating it.
  • The best in town. Taste Sicilian cakes. Nice coffee
  • Growing up in NYC, we would stop at Ferrara's and pick up a dozen cannoli on our way to dinner with la famiglia every Sunday.. I thought I knew great cannoli until I had Maria's in Erice. This is THE CANNOLI by which all other cannoli should be judged. A-mazing!!!
  • Nice place for the typical Erice pastries, the almond milk was a nice accompaniment. We went back later for the almond and lemon granitas. We even met Maria herself.
  • O è of the best pastry shops in Sicily. Nice garden.
