  • We walked up the hill and climbed up on top of the rock which was well worth the effort for the commanding views across the countryside  more »
  • From here you can enjoy a breathtaking view on the immense Etna, and down the Inland valleys to the sea "Greek". Even for someone like me who now lives for years on the mountain of Enna, is always the thrill of getting out of this cliff domain mail in eastern Sicily. Nothing seems to have changed since the archaeologist Paolo Orsi told of her thrilling ascent to this holy place where he discovered rock cuts to accommodate the bases of the colossal statues of Demeter and Triptolemus, described by Cicero in his harangue against the depredations of Governor Verre. Even if there is the usual fog this mountain imagine Cliff as a destination for women processions during the festivals in honour of the Mother goddess and savor the mythical mystery of this place place symbolically in the center of the fertile Sicily.

  • In Enna 2500 years ago the rock High, stood the temple to the goddess Ceres. Some of the columns and the support of the pulpit can be admired inside the Cathedral. Breathtaking view, worth a pause for reflection
