  • It is not clear how he got a Flemish painter to go in this remote village to 1700 metres in the heart of the Maira valley, however the frescos by Hans Clemer are very beautiful and picturesque and worth coming up here. For a moment you feel like being catapulted into a bygone era.

  • In val Maira, before the town of Strop the road indicates Elva a handful of houses up on top at the end of a somewhat tortuous road, testimony of the past, a history written by people strong. A unique parish church, with interesting frescoes. ... and me too long. .. is to visit. En route from Sambo to Elva two artworks, d a not to be missed. The Church of San Peyre to Strop and s. Maria di Morinesio. Near the parish church two plaques bearing witness of the fallen of two world wars. Elva has paid a heavy toll, a thought to these guys!

  • Great Church of which you don't know the exact year of construction (the earliest records date back to 1355). Inside a single nave is a gem. Very nice paintings in the chancel by the Flemish painter Hans Clemer. Worth a visit
