  • the Fiery façade from the sunset light I will remain in the eye for a long time. This splendid sanctuary towers over the small village of Custonaci, who visited in early October, in the tranquility of a warm evening, gives the impression that time has stopped. the sanctuary is well worth a visit and the cobblestones of the churchyard and its well give an atmosphere even more special.

  • The church stands in all its Majesty in the Centre of the village and overlooks the main street. The Church is beautiful both inside and out, is Baroque, very colorful and well taken care of. Within the framework of the nursing Madonna, dating back to the late 1400 is for local people at the heart of Marian devotion. The exterior of the churchyard, beautiful, it's all made of river pebbles that, worked with great patience, give the Church that extra touch that makes it unique. Noteworthy also rose. According to legend, the painting was donated in Custonaci for favors received. A ship that transported it was wrecked in the sea of Cornino and survivors put him in a wagon pulled by oxen and built the Church at the point where the oxen stopped.

  • The sanctuary of Custonaci is a jewel of art and beauty that opens the heart to prayer and contemplation. Had a look at the main nave, in fact, you immediately feel that you are in God's House that under its vaults times gathers all the children under one family. In addition, the painting of the Madonna with child is wonderful, full of details that refer to the Trinity. If in the area, it is a must!
