Da Capo Colonna a Le Castella, Crotone
(3.6/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Though Crotone is a bit off of the beaten path, if you travel to Calabria consider taking in the natural beauty of Da Capo Colonna a Le Castella, a gorgeous piece of shoreline. This coastal beauty is lined with wonders, from coves and cliffs to stunning shores for sunbathing. Nature lovers looking to connect with the rustic Italian seaside will find much to appreciate, as will those interested in its archeological sites and splendid views. As a result of its under-the-radar status, the beach itself is very basic in terms of tourist amenities. However, you will find a few bars and restaurants nearby. Use our Crotone vacation planner to arrange your visit to Da Capo Colonna a Le Castella and other attractions in Crotone.

  • area of course beautiful, but unfortunately the cleanliness ... While the urban centres are quite clean, the streets are full of garbage: everywhere abandoned bags by the side of the road, even in the section between Isola Capo Rizzuto and Crotone I saw two dead dogs on the side of the road for four days before someone took away ... I'm sorry but I will not return

  • Remodeled in extremely well is a site not to be missed. The view is breathtaking and from the stands are enjoying amazing sunsets

  • Here where nature and history were so lavish, beauty is ruined by the hand of man, or rather from a mentality illiterate and gretta. Le Castella: arrive at a trot around thirty Knights and invade the Castle courtyard. fascinating show but tamarro! The time that these date back the china arriving a hundred bikers; same scene! The road to Capo Colonna, especially after you log on to the Outrigger is almost impassable. If you follow the signs for Red beaches at some point you're missing. The parking of Capo Colonna has dirt and hedges left untreated, however going towards Crotone the road is littered with hundreds and hundreds of street lights! A waste vile! Then when you are in sight of the city still decay, always degradation! ... and yet this was the land of Pythagoras, Malik! Or to paraphrase another famous Crotone say ourselves: that we can do, "the sky is always blue!"?

  • Awesome place, but in 2016 we cannot find the platform from which you can see up close the column closed with a hurdle which will take a few years and without explanation, all surrounded by a "provisional" which will be temporary for a decade. Thanks to the small church and a cute little bar circuit breaker next to the Church itself.

  • The place is very nice. Too bad the archaeological area is too haphazard and that you cannot get under the column.

  • Impressive place. Unfortunately little valued.

  • Uncared for and valued. Apart from a bar, there is no other.

  • Beautiful place and landscape, but completely abandoned to itself and without the shadow of nearby amenities.
