Da Capo Colonna a Le Castella, Crotone

3.9
Though Crotone is a bit off of the beaten path, if you travel to Calabria consider taking in the natural beauty of Da Capo Colonna a Le Castella, a gorgeous piece of shoreline. This coastal beauty is lined with wonders, from coves and cliffs to stunning shores for sunbathing. Nature lovers looking to connect with the rustic Italian seaside will find much to appreciate, as will those interested in its archeological sites and splendid views. • Two of the most beautiful places to see in Italy. The sunsets at Capo Colonna are almost touching, it's amazing that a place so steeped in history and spectacles of nature has come down to us. Le Castella are breathtaking, for position as much as the clearness of the sea. Are extremely romantic and charming places.

  • about 20 km of coastline with many coves and beaches, some of these are only accessible by boat 0 through country lanes. my favorite remains the "SAFA".

  • The places are lovely, essential to move with your car because public transportation is short is because otherwise it is difficult to stay in the most beautiful places and scenic spots.

  • Wonderful place. Suggestive amazing fantastic. Unique colored sea. Locals quiet polite and sociable. Truly a vacation with a capital V. Tranquility and serenity. All very but very natural.

  • The sight of the only surviving column of the Temple of Hera Lacinia, majestic silhouetted fearless and proud between the blue skies of heaven and the mighty waves of the sea foam commands respect and compassion at the same time. The thought of the beauty that we lost to the inability to protect her and neglect, today as in the past, making it melancholy and elicits a sense of regret for what has been and will never be. The walk to the Archaeological Park, on a trail maintained by olive groves flooded with sunshine was very pleasant. The Museum was recently built and with free admission, is very well done and deserves a higher valuation, although the most valuable pieces emerged from the excavation of the times are preserved at the Museum of Crotone. The general conception of the installation and the structure, the presentation of the collections, the Division into themes, spaces makes it in my opinion much more beautiful than that of the capital.

  • Lovely place that oozes history from all sides. Unfortunately abandoned and unattended ... A bit of organization. Incomplete archaeological excavations.

  • Beautiful place. Characteristic. From the Church to the Tower, from the lighthouse to the historic column. The entire area is overlooking the sea. Sunrise and breathtaking sunset. Not to be missed!
