  • Kept really well, you will immediately notice upon entering the country. Ample parking. It is well worth a visit.

  • The castle is situated in the historical centre of Crecchio and is well maintained. Houses the Archaeological Museum of Byzantine and early medieval Abruzzo and can be visited thanks to cooperation between institutions and volunteers, we have found a very nice lady. Entry is free but you can leave an offer. Tells the story of the Lombards, Byzantines and the Etruscans, only in Italian but it is very interesting. You can climb the Tower of the olive tree to enjoy the view. There are many stairs and as there isn't a lift is not recommended for people with mobility difficulties. Best to check hours of operation, by 16 September is open only on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

  • Visit to the Castle especially for the fact that hosts a history museum/art/Byzantine traditions and customs that occupied the area just after the fall of the Roman Empire in the West. Very interesting exhibits and under a certain point of view unique weapons, vases, terracotta, etc. Of particular interest the reconstructions of weapons, armor and banners used by the Byzantine army. The Museum is kept alive through the work of a group of highly trained volunteers who have kept the museum open for me and my wife well beyond visiting hours were further lingered to chat about history and art thanks a lot!
