For safety reasons, the visit is made with a professional guide. You can find numbers of guides and directions for hours on the internet. I have contacted one of the balloons and the response was timely, precise and hospitable. Tickets are done in a visitor center in the lower part of town. Craco was founded by the Normans, this remains the high tower that remains well preserved. The newer parts of the town were destroyed by a landslide on the origin of which man has many responsibilities. Why the country went to depopulate and few years thanks to the commune and volunteers has been upgraded into a jewel of tourism to visit fascinating and melancholy as uninhabited. Craco often acts as a movie set. A special praise to the Guide, intelligent and very prepared. An unforgettable visit!

Abbiamo potuto fare la visita al vecchio monastero, poi il giro guidato del centro storico. Consiglio entrambe per una panoramica storica e culturale completa. Ottime ed esperte le guide. more »

We were able to visit the old monastery, then the guided tour of the historical centre. Advice both to a historical and cultural overview complete. Excellent and experienced guides.

We visited the historical center of craco accompanied by Paul. It was Pier pleasant, informative and impressive. It is an excursion absolutely recommended. The guide is very helpful and attentive.
