  • Beautiful Cathedral. It was exciting, because in the middle of our visit a musician began playing the organ, and provided us with a beautiful and exciting music. Recommend a steamed fruit that has next, has some wonderful stuffed figs.

  • The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, also known as the sanctuary of the Virgin of Leslie, is among the most famous sacred buildings of Southern Italy and, from 2011, a Unesco World Heritage site. Its origins are ancient but, over the centuries, has had several changes; the last restorations, aimed to restore both the exterior and the Interior, dating from the 20th century. The majestic façade with three portals (the larger Central) topped by three rosettes. The Interior has a Latin cross and divided into three naves, contains works of high historical and artistic value. The beautiful chapel of Santo patrono, in Baroque style, which houses the miraculous Byzantine icon (by an unknown artist) depicting the Virgin suckling the child. I like bike pause in prayer in the Chapel and meditate to the miraculous event, dating back to the 16th century, which gave rise to the cult of Santo patrono, today the patron saint of our beautiful Cosenza and celebrated with solemn celebrations on 12 February, by the Catholic Church Chang-bisignanese.

  • The church fits right into the unique neighborhood. Walk up to the cathedral past the river, up the cobbled streets, on the side of the hill.
