  • We were visiting the town of Cortona and getting lost between the alleys and the long and tiring uphills we came almost at the top of the town where a sign indicated s. Margherita. Intrigued, we continued the climb (this time in the middle of the nature) when we found ourselves in front of the beautiful view of this basilica. At that point the long climb took a totally different value. Sacred and solemn place that leaves you speechless for what there is inside the Basilica and the splendid panorama you can enjoy from that altitude

  • It's a steep climb through Cortona's streets to reach the basilica (if you don't drive up to it). The rewards aren't extraordinary since the architecture and art within aren't breathtaking. But the walk and the visit make for a pleasant experience, enhanced by sweeping views along the way.
  • Very impressive church and the views from up here are wonderful! Definitely worth the climb.
  • Small church located beside the old city walls and with a superb sight of the Tuscan landscape
  • No highlights
  • The Basilica is located at the foot of the castle of grifalco and has a very nice view over the Valley. The basilica has a painted ceiling. This parking lot in front of the basilica.
