Averau is the highest mountain of the Nuvolau Group in the Dolomites, located in the Province of Belluno, northern Italy. It lies between the Falzarego Pass and the Giau Pass. The mountain is usually climbed from its northern face, which is less steep than its other faces, by the Averau ferrata. The view from the summit takes in many of the Dolomitic giants, including Monte Civetta, Monte Pelmo, Antelao and Sorapiss.

  • Very nice path that goes from the rifugio Averau refuge Nuvolao. Council to come up with the chairlift with Avenau and arrive at the shelter Nuvolao before descending on foot for a leisurely stroll. Also suitable for lazy.

  • Who versed the 5 Torri, can take the same even the Monte Averau and enjoy the stunning mountain scenery. On the road is the Rifugio Averau - highly recommended kitchen and landscaping between the Monte Averau and the Nuvolau. Wonderful!

  • The ideal is to reach it from passo Giau and not from the chairlift: such a nice place has to be won and "struggled"
