  • In the Centre of Comiso inside are placed well 15 altars, among which we mention the seventeenth-century altar, dedicated to the birth of Mary and made of polychrome marble and lapis lazuli. The wooden ceiling was frescoed by Messina Antonio Alberti.

  • Santa Maria del Molino is Comiso Cathedral a beautiful church at the end of the 14th century, after a great earthquake back in 1693 almost the comes completely reconstructed in the Baroque period that we see today, it's magnificent outside and more in its interior, where there are several tombs and many secondary chapels, one more beautiful than the other no doubt is a must visit.

  • Beautiful example of 18th Century architecture and one of the shining reminders of what a devout Catholic town this is, grand in very scale, much more than the town, itself
  • After the terrible earthquake of 1693 it was destroyed and rebuilt in 1699 by the generous contribution of count Balthasar IV hake.
