  • Comiso? Past the airport, there's more! A lovely town with a small historic center focused on almost two squares ... antique flavor. still not offended by mass tourism. We had here the bed and breakfast and we chose it as the focal point of our raids in the Ragusano. Yes.. We're a little inland. but from here, it's all pretty close ... To get to Dubrovnik just scollettare ... Scoglitti and Marina di Ragusa are right in front of watching the sea. more or less you can reach all sights in 20 25 minutes ... something more to get in. But back in Comiso. Apart from the beautiful architecture of the churches purely Baroque that surround, there are some things you back in time ... as the circles of the parties are open from morning to night with Vaid and their chairs crammed on the sidewalk ... the Club chairs bring around. following the shade of buildings. who mingle and find themselves in a table at the side of the square to play cards. Or in pairs of two who confess. or solo for people-watching. Lots and lots of Sicilian resisting time and continues with its steady pace and almost sacral.

  • In the Centre of Comiso inside are placed well 15 altars, among which we mention the seventeenth-century altar, dedicated to the birth of Mary and made of polychrome marble and lapis lazuli. The wooden ceiling was frescoed by Messina Antonio Alberti.

  • Beautiful example of 18th Century architecture and one of the shining reminders of what a devout Catholic town this is, grand in very scale, much more than the town, itself
  • After the terrible earthquake of 1693 it was destroyed and rebuilt in 1699 by the generous contribution of count Balthasar IV hake.
