Lillaz Waterfalls, Cogne
(4.7/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Make your way up a trail through nature and scenic views to reach Lillaz Waterfalls. Walk from the village and follow the path around geological exhibits, through pine trees, and along a stream. Head strait to the top of the falls, or stop off at one of the many viewing points for different angles along the way. Prepare for slightly steeper steps near the end. Have a picnic at the top, and even drink from the cold, clear water. From the top you can go down the other side by crossing a bridge over the fall. Keep your eyes open for interesting wildlife on the way. Arrange your visit to Lillaz Waterfalls and discover more family-friendly attractions in Cogne using our Cogne vacation route planner.

  • It is undeniable that in valle d'Aosta are good to do with tourism, giving visitors facilities always well maintained and comfortable. The same can be said of the Cascades of Lillaz, that have a gigantic parking lot at the entrance (surcharge) which combines with a few minutes of walking on the Plains or so, the first stretch of gorgeous waterfalls, marked by a comfortable trail with wooden handrail. The falls are beautiful, especially in the winter time which froze almost completely. Separate discussion deserves a gross motor disability: you can get up to the first section of the falls, then after the trail starts to climb in natural steps that would make it impossible to hike in a wheelchair. Remains as magical as the region that hosts it.

  • Whilst in Cogne for a wedding, we embarked on a short, easy hike to view the Lillaz Waterfalls. It was a lovely, sunny day that was the perfect setting for this invigorating hike.
  • These waterfalls are gorgeous as we were told. We've been to visit them in December, still there is no snow but, thanks to the few hours of sunlight, the falls are already dressed in a charming ice sheet that makes magic. Too bad not being able to climb up to the top because of icy steps up, but we managed to get to a good place to see them both. FROM
