Villa Manin, Codroipo

(4.3/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Begun in the 16th century by noble Friulian Antonio Manin, Villa Manin is a sprawling complex made up of a huge villa, ornate marble chapel, and more. Today, the villa's 350 rooms house permanent exhibits on antique carriages, armor, period furniture, and historic art. The walls and ceilings are covered in frescoes by 18th-century artists like Ludovico Dorigny, Amigoni Jacopo, and Pietro Oretti, and the rooms house Fontebasso paintings and Torretti sculptures. The Chamber of Napoleon--where the emperor stayed and signed the Treaty of Campoformido--is also open to visitors. Traveling exhibits of both contemporary and ancient art stop here, and you can often catch a concert as well. • The villa Manin is one of the flagships of Friuli, often very important exhibitions, concerts and cultural events in the recent past of some significance. The property is beautiful to look at from a distance and also visit the Nice Council park outside the villa.

  • A dazzling place, really beautiful. The administration organize a lot of events trought all the year.
  • Pretty dope
  • Nice place where I saw Iron Maiden concert!!
  • The most important Venetian villa of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Historical place, residence of Doge Manin and Napoleon. Only partially open to visitors. Surface preservation, and often made unrecognizable by temporary exhibitions without any relation to the dwelling. Poor care and respect of the structure, is exploited unskilled individuals without vision. Worth a visit in the rare periods when there are Museum exhibits disrespectful.

  • Villa Manin is a appartanuta to Napoleon, then the grandeur of the Interior and especially the immense garden definitely leave you speechless. Just a pity that all the furniture just the room of Bonaparte has remained almost intact, however it definitely is a nice place to visit.
