  • A marvel of building south of Venice. In this beautiful Romanesque building, there are beautiful murals, as well as in the refectory of this set... Where lived Guy of Arezzo...

  • I don't know the Byzantine art but this Abbey leaves its mark on the visitor. Perfectly preserved is certainly worth the trip

  • Beautiful Abbey, off the beaten track. We visited this abbey on our way from Venice to Rimini. It's an amazing stop. The tower of the abbey is impressive when you walk up to it. The frescoes inside are awesome and the floor is very beautiful. Try to find some time to visit this abbey.
  • A travel through time
  • Magnificent
  • Beautiful Abbey situated in the locality of Pomposa in the province of Ferrara. Attached to the SS16, impossible to miss. The entire complex is kept very well: hedges, grass clippings, trees. Spring is a great place to picnic or a trip outside. The Church is beautiful and conveys the whole structure: mosaics on the floor and frescoes at the top. Next you can visit the Museum. There is also a bar/restaurant (which I had the pleasure of trying).

  • Is an amazing Abbey ... Is unique. This is a collection of art. The Abbey is completely painted, while the floor before the altar is done in mosaic. The Interior is weird because it should be divided into three naves, but they are weird aisles because there is only one small door that connects the beginning of the Church to the altar next to the apse, where, usually, is much larger than the passage. The fresco cycle is one of the best preserved in the whole province, Giotto inspired, while the mosaic is a whole bunch of different marbles placed between the 6th century and the 12th century. Another feature is the Bell Tower, where, to go up, you can give an offer freedom. The Bell Tower is 48 m high, not very tall but boasts an incredible story that will be told by the girls who are on duty there. Also an interesting feature is the fact that this campanile has foundations, in fact you will notice that the Windows get bigger and bigger every floor that salt, this to lighten the belfry. Last note on is the pomposino Museum. There are three rooms: 1) there are 2 frescoes) objects, high and low reliefs 3) a chapel with frescoes. All this is free the first Sunday of the month.
