Castello Bonomi Reviews

Unfortunately we came on the day "wrong", in fact we visited on Sunday (when the main day was Saturday), but especially in conjunction with our visit there was a banquet of more than 50 people who slightly disturbed the visit itself. The estate is very interesting, especially for the driveway and to the castle on your left. For the rest, cellar and place of ageing very anonymous, fail to convey that something extra that we received on other occasions. To remember that we are talking about a very small company, only 24 hectares of land. The wines, despite various proclamations, were not appreciated to the full. Will that the estate is located at the foot of Monte Orfano, on calcareous and clayey, but not their Dry or GranCru are more complex and structured than the "normality" of Franciacorta. If you love a wine to drink, and they'll appreciate them Castello Bonomi. The review would deserve 3 stars, but the fourth is due to Alessandro, our guide more than improvised, a guy (oenologist of the winery itself) that in its simplicity and shyness was able to transmit his passion for the vineyards and for his work.

The guide was prepared and kind girl who told us and explained everything in great detail: the story of Franciacorta, the Castello Bonomi, visiting all the cellar with the explanation of the various processes that lead from the harvest to the bottle of wine. After the tour there is a tasting fee. This I find it to be the only "downside" of this Winery: for 2 wines available for tasting (half a glass) have demanded €15 apiece. Included some cold cuts and bread sticks, to absorb the alcohol ... in my opinion, compared to a purchase of wine from the cellar (I would accept even a minimum purchase required), should pay the amount of the tasting. I bought €150 of wine and still charged me for the tasting.
Posto molto bello alle porte della Franciacorta. Consiglio le visite alle cantine e la degustazione. Anche il ristorante non è male anche se viene usato più per cerimonie che per cenette in pochi. more »Very nice place at the gates of Franciacorta. Council visits to wine cellars and wine tasting. The restaurant is not bad even if it is used more for ceremonies that for dinner in a few.
