  • ... also because we were the first to do so. The gorges, obviously in lifts, open from the village of Ripe, a village in front of Civitella del Tronto. The road is not the best for a site that forces him to climb in Civitella before easing: from the round about in Civitella, follow the direction "Campo sportivo" returns on the highway. From here to the right, then there are directions on the left. It's not at all complicated, you just need the help of Google Maps. From the junction of Ripe the road has a landslide and, then, arrived to a large rest area by means of a track, the trail continues on foot. The scream: it is not a tourist walk!!! If you think these Gorges are home to as many as four hermitages and rock, if you clear the eremitical monasticism phenomenon, you'll understand immediately why the path of the throats is not easy!!! Someone wrote that are better dell'infernaccio gorges. Obvious: I'm seeing, were built of smooth jumpers to Ford the River, the Hermitage is such in name only, because the only inhabitant recently passed to better life went into town to buy the basic necessities through a tunnel with his three-wheeled!!! The hermitages del Salinello, instead, are really rough: without prejudice to the first that now is reached via stone ladders comfortable (and which is closed to better preserve it idiots below), the others being a massacre. We have done only to Santa Maria Sable, to "Ascend" to which there were places where we had a vacuum behind it, to fall, some stretches I had them on all fours, with her hands on the ground, such was the slope! The Hermitage is quaint: there is a cistern, an underground cell with faded frescoes, a fresco portraying a madonna probably all ruined by idiots who have carved their names on disfiguring the original image that had passed unscathed through the centuries ... Immediately after the main cavern on the throat (who is afraid of heights, avoid absolutely this path!), you enter a cave several meters long, in which we did not venture for lack of proper equipment. They say there were the remains of an ancient burial ruined by treasure seekers (ah, dear, good, old Western civilization ...) These gorges were left as much as possible in their natural state and it is nature that is the host: If there is full, do not pass, peace. If there is a landslide every three for two, you have to bypass or patience: going back. When you go to these places, we must always remember that you have to submit to rules that we didn't write us human beings and that we are only guests. We visited these gorges a few days ago and they were completely dry, fiery season date we are living (indeed, I would say: "suffering"). We did not appreciate the waterfall and let us bathe (inter alia: pure to descend the waterfall the road has a slope that requires the use of ropes to keep), but we could take the path through the Gorge all the way to the more characteristic. After that, immediately after the junction to the Hermitage of San Marco, a landslide of ample proportions who has eaten most of the slope, has forced us to turn back. Though we could hear the sound of water, under the trunks, had dug another way: let us remember that the earthquake in Central Italy is not yet history, current events and the Earth is trying to reestablish its balance. Pulling the conclusions, I do not recommend the Gorges in who wants to be just a walk. Otherwise it is a sui generis experience that has to be lived and enjoyed with a bit of a pain, but it compensates with extraordinary and unique views.

  • the road is not shown and you have to improvise. There are breaks for landslides. How do you see them? many abandoned wonders are bad while we complain about the lack of work or tourism.

  • After having achieved not with little difficulty ripa, we found two signs indicating the way. the choice was almost mandatory ... arrived at the third sign, this reads welcome to Gole del salinello we covered 100 meters in rough road just ahead, in the middle of nowhere, between long grass and possible snakes but mostly without directions we choose to go home ... perhaps tourism is not well seen or we missed the neon signs.

  • Nice ride suitable for children. Minimum altitude, the trail is not exposed. Bring a pair of sandals and the first Ford stuff it is much nicer and enjoying better the hike rather than having to jump over the stones with the boots.
