  • The Cathedral of Cividale has a long history. The current church was built in the second half of the fifteenth century, in Gothic-Venetian style. Inside are the famous altarpiece of Pellegrino II, one of the masterpieces of Italian medieval Goldsmith. Evocative the Crucifix of the 13th century.

  • The building is austere, simple, cold: all invokes the friulanità and value of essential ... even in the faith. Ornate details, in turn capable of a genuine and serious training, take on structural and functional value and importance in Roman-ness of the building.

  • The great cathedral, whose current structure was built in the 15th and 16th centuries, is interesting especially for the few but important medieval testimonies, as the two works of art have survived us despite the damage caused by earthquakes that have struck the area over the centuries: a 10th-century wooden crucifix and moving the pala argentea of Pellegrino II However, an important work of jewellery that you can see only in photography or with binoculars.

  • The beautiful Cathedral, rebuilt after the earthquake. On the square pass charming city holidays. Fireworks wonderful. Processions in medieval attire.

  • The Cathedral was restored after the earthquake of 1976, rich in ancient paintings and statues.
