La Cinta Muraria - Camminamento di Ronda, Cittadella

See what it was like to defend the city from La Cinta Muraria - Camminamento di Ronda, a finely preserved example of a medieval defense system. The walls reach a height of 14 m (46 ft) and offer striking views. You'll also find a small museum and a gift shop within the fortification--be sure to pick up an "authentic" medieval map, designed to help modern tourists find their way around this historic site. • We visited the small museum where the visitor center is, and really enjoyed it. Then we went out and walked the wall. You can go all the way around, although we didn't have time for that. For those wh...  more »
  • We stumbled upon it by accident but it was a wonderful experience. The walls make you walk around the town and let you see the view from the top. I think the municipality is very attentive to the walls and the city. Entrance for adults 5 euro for children 3 € (kids are free)

  • I honestly didn't know about this place but we should go to work while I went to my appointment I found myself surrounded by these massive and beautiful walls. I must commend all administration as it is a truly magical place. Having had more time it would have been nice to be able to do the whole walk along all the walls (it's doable with a ticket that you buy at the information desk) and then go out and do it again from the outside so that you can go through all the various revenue leading within the city. In the summer should be a wonder with queim bridges in the channels around. Whoever is out there has to go for a ride in the Citadel, you won't regret it.

  • It was a very wonderful way to spend a few hours; very authentic, not touristy, many options for wine and food. If you're out for a Saturday, Cittadella in the morning, Asiago midday, and Bassano in the evening would be a great way to see authentic Veneto.
  • The 1 km wall which surrounds the whole citadel, one can see the whole city since the visit on the wall
  • 5 euros are worth to appreciate the Cittadella's view from the top of walls. Furthermore, with this ticket you are able to visit archeological museum situated midway of the wall path. To turn around on the wall and visit the museum it takes about 1 hour and half, in a relaxed way. Have fun!
  • The views from the walls is worth the cost of the ticket (€5 integer, €3). Splendid view both inside and outside the town. Note to the conductors of dogs. Visits are only possible by keeping the dog in his arms all the way along the walls (almost 1.5 km/about 1 hour).

  • X the first time to Citadel, visited the walkway that is well worth the visit, Kudos to whoever undertakes to keep a historic place still in its beauty, the Museum inside very interesting. Recommended for those who want to spend a nice walk different than usual. For sure I will be back.
