  • In the historic center, a few steps from teatro Mascagni and the Duomo, lies the Etruscan Archaeological Museum located in a neo-classical building from the early 20th century. Particularly rich the exhibits representing all the surrounding territory in Etruscan, carefully catalogued and exposed along its historical sources. It is recommended that you plan the visit by contacting the Pro. Site or by accepting the museum itself so that we can make use of an experienced guide who will make you seize all the most interesting aspects of the collections on display and maybe put some etruscan tombs which are visited only at certain times and in certain times. Is definitely not to be missed!

  • In Italy, almost all museums and picateche are closed on Mondays, but Closed are opened. Days ago, it was a Monday, and the choice that day was between Montalcino and closed, like places to visit. A phone call ... and decided to go to sleep. The Museum is beautiful, arranged on two floors, a ground floor and one in the basement: interesting exhibits, but those that remained fixed in mind you were downstairs: terracotta urns, with the original colours (blue, red, yellow) that an employee of reported being of lower classes, while the wealthier classes being constructed finest sarcophagi in Alabaster marble and stone have lost the original coilorazioni. Very interesting. A single note. Are professors and teachers for recent decision, presenting the documentation, are exempted from paying national museums, as part of their continuing education. Ok. All national museums, presenting the service status rilasciatomi from the school this year and my ID, I got free upgrade; a Closed Nope. Because according to the Lady I should have introduced some form on plain paper, at whose school I had reported, that should have been filled out by the school, instead of the State. But my data were cited, from when I was employed at school, I was a teacher at an undetermined time and whatnot. So even having proven to be Professor indefinitely I applied, but the reduced. Oh well ...

  • The National Archaeological Museum of Chiusi, established in 1871 as the Municipal Museum is housed in a neoclassical building from 1901: the exhibition area was considerably enlarged in 1932 to accommodate other private collections. Damaged during the second world war, the Museum spent in management to the State in 1963. In 2003 it was completely redesigned, bringing significant changes compared to the previous editors that dated back to 1985 and in part to the 1992. The visit follows a chronological and thematic simultaneously, with an attempt to reconstitute the ancient contexts, despite most of the objects is free for the provenance of old private collections
